Your MQTT broker data stays on your device. This page lists what we collect and what we leave alone.
Last updated: 8 June 2026
The short version
Connections, topics, payloads, credentials and certificates stay on your device. The app sends only anonymous, optional diagnostics (crash and usage), which you can turn off in Settings. There's no account and no advertising.
What the app collects
To fix bugs and improve features, the app collects anonymous diagnostics: crash reports through Sentry and basic, anonymous usage analytics through Aptabase. We don't link this data to your identity, we never use it to track you across apps or websites, and it carries no personal information.
On the App Store this appears as “Crash Data” and “Usage Data” that are not linked to you and not used for tracking. You can turn all of it off in the app's Settings.
What never leaves your device
Your MQTT world stays local. Broker profiles, connections, topics, payloads, message logs and settings remain on your device, and we never receive them.
The app stores broker credentials, client certificates and private keys in the iOS Keychain. Diagnostics are privacy-safe by design, and message-log CSV/JSON exports redact secrets and raw payloads before you share them.
What the diagnostics include
Crash reports contain technical details such as the device model, OS version and a stack trace. Usage analytics record anonymous events, for example which screens you open, and never your broker hosts, topics, payloads or credentials.
To disable both, open Settings in the app and turn off diagnostics and analytics.
Network connections
The app's main connection is to the MQTT broker you point it at, which you or your organization operate. We never see your topics, payloads or credentials.
The only other connections are the anonymous diagnostics above, sent to Sentry and Aptabase, which you can switch off.
No tracking
The app does not track you. There is no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because the app does not link your data to third parties for advertising and does not follow you across apps or websites. The diagnostics are anonymous.
Third-party services
The app uses Sentry (crash reporting) and Aptabase (privacy-friendly, anonymous analytics). This website separately uses Google Analytics and Google Ads. Each service has its own privacy policy.
Payments
MQTT Commander is a one-time purchase, and Apple handles it through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
We hold no personal data that is linked to you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. The diagnostics are anonymous and can be turned off in the app. You're still welcome to contact us with any privacy question.
About this website
This marketing website is separate from the app. To understand how visitors use the site, it uses Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement, which set cookies and process limited usage data such as pages viewed and approximate region. You can block it with your browser settings or a tracker blocker.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
